Yo Maps has been honored with a remarkable achievement at the prestigious Ngoma Awards 2023.
Yo Maps, a renowned figure in Zambian music, achieved a historic feat at the 18th edition of the Ngoma Awards held in Lusaka on December 12, 2023. The night witnessed Yo Maps triumphing not just once, but thrice, as he walked away with three prestigious awards.
This talented singer, songwriter, and producer received the esteemed Most Outstanding Male Musician Award, surpassing his fellow contenders Neo Slayer and Chef 187 in the category. Furthermore, he also clinched the highly acclaimed Most Outstanding Album of the Year with his 2023 release, titled “Try Again Album,” surpassing Neo Slayer’s “Situationship Album” and Chef 187’s “Broke Nolunkumbwa Album.” The final accolade in the music awards segment was the Most Outstanding Song of the Year category, where Yo Maps once again emerged victorious with his track “Kondwa,” which happened to be the most streamed song from the ‘Try Again Album.’ In this category, Yo Maps competed against Mordecai’s “Fire” and Neo Slayer’s “A Woman’s Prayer.” Following this significant milestone, Yo Maps concluded the evening’s event with a remarkable performance that resembled a full-fledged music concert.
