UQoqa – Emandulo

South African Maskandi singer UQoqa released a song with lyrics called “Emandulo”.

Lolu khiphi olusha lomculo wesintu lufika ngesikhathi lapho abathandi bohlelo lweMaskandi nabalandeli bomculo wesiZulu befuna imculo enomlayezo ojulile, ehlanganisa ubuciko bezingcingo zangempela kanye nokwethembeka emizweni. UQoqa uyaqhubeka nokwakha indawo ehloniphekile emculweni wesintu ngokulandisa izindaba eziqotho, amaphimbo anohlonze, kanye nokuzinikela ekulondolozeni amagugu emvelo. The song “Emandulo” (meaning old times, birth and the nature of the book) uses folk elements to remind the listeners of the lives of the past, the necessity of honoring traditions, returning to the ancestors and keeping humanity and togetherness in the community.

The Abadidiyeli bomculo abavela e-Abadidiya babakha umnyombo womsindo opholile, ohambisana nesivinini esimaphakathi, oqiniswe ukushaywa kwesigingci se-acoustic ngobunyonipho, imiculo ye-concertina epholile, and emerging shaikhazis. The decent mix has the I-bassline moving under the human rhythm and keeping the groove alive properly and not squeezing into the instruments being performed. Also the surrounding noise level is kept down in the room so that all sounds, Zulu chanting and accompanying sounds, may be heard well without disturbance.

Play the song loud, hope and control. He was mid-verse, name-dropping his own personal heroes in his Zulu rap lines as he built up the mood, passionate and provocative from the song’s opening. His ukucula, or control and management of the poles, provides a tremendous force that keeps the sailor’s board in position for the remainder of the ride.

This song has all the bases covered and makes for a comprehensive and delightful effort. The voice power from the start to the finish suits very well with the utilization of traditional instruments in this composition.

You should include this wonderful track to your relaxing songs playlist, morning motivation songs and today’s gospel music! Hey, you’re on “Emandulo” on your digital platforms streaming the music you love now!
