Umusepela Crown – Born Again Ft Triple M

Zambian conscious rap technician Umusepela Crown teams up with hip-hop star Triple M for an uplifting, spirit-lifting collaboration called “Born Again” on his studio album Star Wakumwesu.

This contemplative record comes at a time when Southern African hip-hop aficionados and Zee beats purists are searching for bar-heavy, message-driven rap songs that strike a mix between true street grit and personal redemption and spiritual rejuvenation. Umusepela Crown goes up to the mic with keen penmanship, teaming up with Triple M to dive into the prospect of turning over a new page, discarding previous blunders, and remaining firm in faith amidst the never-ending tribulations of life.

The sound architect lays down a gritty, mid-tempo hip hop atmosphere, underpinned by hammering kick drums, sharp snares, and a deep rolling bassline. The rhythm is underpinned by looping, delicate keyboard chords and ambient textures, keeping the bounce going and leaving enough of headroom throughout the mix.

Umusepela Crown asserts himself on the mic, he has disciplined breath control, and the momentum is bolstered by hard-hitting cadences from Triple M.

“Born Again” is available now on all digital music outlets.
