The Zambian music industry has entered a period of deep mourning following the passing of one of its most celebrated voices.

Chiko Mwenya Mumba, popularly known as Chiko Wise, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

According to reports, the beloved artist was rushed to the hospital after suffering complications linked to a pre-existing cardiac condition. Sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Chiko Wise was more than just an artist he was a movement, a voice, and a symbol of the Copperbelt sound. His music carried emotion, culture, and street energy that resonated with fans across Zambia and beyond.
