The Zambian Artists Publicly Supporting UPND in the 2026 Campaign

This year’s campaign period has taken an interesting turn, with several Zambian artists publicly supporting the United Party for National Development (UPND). From performing at campaign rallies to releasing campaign songs and entertaining supporters at political events, a number of musicians have become part of the party’s campaign activities. While some fans have applauded their involvement, others believe artists should stay away from politics. Here are some of the artists who have publicly supported UPND.
Aqualaskin, a UPND supporter recently released a trending campaign song titled “Kale Asanika Bally,” it was officially released on major streaming platforms on June 3, 2026. Early promotional versions and campaign videos began circulating online a few days earlier around May 30–31, 2026. The song has already received over 464k YouTube views and has become one of the biggest campaign songs of the 2026 elections. It has been widely played at UPND rallies across the country, with many supporters embracing its message. Fans have also praised the song for helping revive Aqualaskin’s music career.
Yo Maps
Yo Maps, a UPND supporter, recently released the campaign song “Aleteka” on October 20th,2026.” The song has attracted 22k likes and 2,280,823 views on YouTube and has become one of the most talked about political songs of the 2026 campaign. It has been widely shared by UPND supporters and played at campaign rallies across the country. Many fans have loved the song and supported his decision, while others have continued to criticise his political involvement and calling the song a flop.
Xaven, a UPND supporter, recently released the campaign song “Bally.” Released on 19 July 2026, the song has already received 7,171 YouTube views. Although it is still new, the song continues to gain attention from supporters and music lovers, with many impressed by her confidence while others continue debating the role of musicians in politics.
One of Zambia’s favourite female artists, the Queen Diva Mampi, has also joined the UPND team and publicly declared her support for the party. Although she has not released a UPND campaign song this year, she has actively participated in campaign rallies and other party events, entertaining supporters across the country.
Her decision sparked mixed reactions from fans. Some welcomed her endorsement and commended her for standing by her beliefs, while others questioned why it had taken her so long to publicly support UPND. Others, however, felt she should have stayed out of politics altogether.
Chanda Na Kay, UPND supporters, recently released the campaign song “Daddy Chololo.”Released on 18 July 2026, the song has already received 311,046 YouTube views and 8.7k likes. It has become one of the biggest UPND campaign songs this election season, receiving strong support from party supporters and performing well online.
Towela Kaira, a UPND supporter, recently featured on the campaign song “Bally Ni Lesa Uwasalile”by Vinchenzo M’bale featuring Chile 84 and Towela Kaira. Released on 30th July 2026, the song has already received 130,950 YouTube views and 3.5k likes. The collaboration has been well received by many UPND supporters and continues to gain momentum online, while also generating discussion among fans about artists’ involvement in politics.
The relationship between music and politics continues to generate debate in Zambia. Whether people agree or disagree with artists taking political positions, musicians have the same democratic right as any other citizen to support a political party. This year’s campaign has shown just how influential artists can be in connecting with people during election campaigns.
