Saudi and Emtee are two of the most prominent names in the South African hip hop scene. They have collaborated on several tracks, such as “Shooters“, “Pull Up” and “RIP Swati“. Now, they have teamed up again to deliver a new banger titled “Nkalakatha“, which is a slang term for “top dog” or “big boss“. The song is a tribute to the late kwaito legend Mandoza, who popularized the word with his hit song of the same name in 2000. Saudi and Emtee pay homage to Mandoza’s legacy and style, while also showcasing their own skills and charisma on the mic. The song is a catchy and energetic anthem that will surely get you moving and grooving.
Saudi, whose real name is Anele Mbisha, is a rapper and singer from Soweto. He started his career as a member of the kwaito group African Trap Movement, along with Emtee, Sjava and Ruff. He rose to fame after signing with Ambitiouz Entertainment, where he released his debut album D.R.U.G.S Inc. in 2017. He left the label in 2019 and formed his own imprint, ATM Worldwide. He is known for his versatile and melodic flow, as well as his trap-influenced beats. Some of his popular songs include “There She Go“, “Make You Proud” and “Dark Dindy“.
Emtee, whose real name is Mthembeni Ndevu, is a rapper, singer and record producer from Matatiele. He began his career at the age of 17, and released his debut single “Roll Up” in 2015, which became a huge hit and earned him several awards. He followed it up with his debut album Avery, which was certified platinum by RiSA. He also released two more albums, Manando and DIY 2, under Ambitiouz Entertainment, before leaving the label in 2019. He then founded his own label, Emtee Records, and released his fourth album Logan in 2021. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of the trap genre in South Africa, and one of the most influential artists of his generation. Some of his popular songs include “We Up“, “Pearl Thusi” and “Wave“.
