SA Rapper Emtee Reveals Shocking Royalty Theft!!

South African hip-hop sensation Emtee, has left the music industry in shock after revealing that he was allegedly robbed of nearly R700,000 in royalties. In an emotional Instagram Live session, the “Roll Up” hitmaker detailed a sophisticated breach that has reportedly left him financially devastated.

According to a legal affidavit shared by the artist’s team, the theft centers on his 2021 album titled “Logan”. An internal investigation discovered that the banking details on his digital distribution portal were swapped three years ago, between January 2021 and February 2023, suggesting monthly royalty payouts processed by the distributor being diverted to an unauthorized account.

While the music distributor reportedly processed the payouts, Emtee’s team maintains that the funds were never received due to the fraudulent banking change. As of late March 2026, the distributor has not yet issued a public statement regarding how the portal security was compromised.

The royalty scandal comes at a time of severe personal struggles for the rapper. During his live broadcast, a visibly distressed Emtee also confirmed several issues such as being kicked out of his home following a restraining order and a pending divorce from his wife, Nicole Chinsamy.
