Highlife giant and philosophical storyteller, Prince Chijioke Mbanefo, makes a return with a very emotional, wisdom-filled album titled “EGBUO MAKA IWE”.

“It’s in an environment of greater tension and rushed behaviour in society. Highlife music is always a mirror of the state of society’s moral state, and the veteran musician has used his position to provide insight into these serious human shortcomings. He sings a song that pricks your conscience, warning his audience to heed the pitfalls of unchecked passion.

The instrumentalists construct a fantastic, slow-grooving highlife picture, with gorgeous lead guitar finger-picking. The percussion is strong and organic, with clean congas and wooden blocks. The bassline is still so warm and flowing and slides gently under the horns, giving the music a real live-band feel.
