Jay Rox Explains The Zone Fam Break Up!!

Jay Rox, once a member of a famous Zambian hip-hop music group called the “Zone Fam”, sets the record straight as he dives deep into how the group part ways.

Zone Fam was a Zambian music hip-hop group that consisted of 4 rappers namely Jay Rox, Dope G (Sam Sakala) , Thugga(Tim) and Yung Verbal. The group rose to fame in 2011 after the release of among others “Shaka Zulu On ‘Em” a massive record that gained them countrywide airplay and international recognition. Zone Fam later released “Contolola” a music video that went ahead to win the best music video at the channel O awards, the group also got recognized at the Global African Music Awards (GAMA) for Best African group. A few years later, the group had disband with each artist going their separate way. Rumors surrounding the dismantle of Zone Fam surfaced with music fans suggesting different causes.

However, Jay Rox set the record straight as he sat for an interview on the Kenny T 1 On 1 Podcast. Jay Rox revealed that the main reason behind the break-Up was because the group was investing a lot of resources in the music business but the return wasn’t enough to sustain them which lead to each artist deciding to go their separate ways.
