Dege Mc – Prisoner

Tanzanian Singeli recording artist and street storyteller Dege Mc steps into the limelight with a raw emotional new record titled “Prisoner.”

This thrilling release comes at a time when East African street-hop lovers and Singeli purists are looking for honest, message-laden songs that express real life challenges and the unsung struggles of daily survival. Dege Mc is a regional circuit favorite for his rapid-fire delivery and sharp neighborhood chronicles, but he trades in the usual fast-rap party anthems for a sobering, introspective tale. In “Prisoner,” the imagery of confinement is exploited to analyze the crushing weight of incarceration by harsh conditions, untrue accusations, and the longing for individual liberty.

The sound architect crafts an intense, mid-tempo sonic backdrop that uniquely bridges heavy Singeli percussive textures with deep, dragging reggae undertones. Rapid-fire hi-hat rolls, subterranean, speaker-rattling basslines and knocker kick drums keep the rhythm swinging with an urgent, head-nodding bounce without crowding the arrangement. Meanwhile, the wide-opened-up audio engineering offers a ton of breathing room throughout the mix so that every tense cadence switch, raspy inflection, and vocal accent cuts through with absolute clarity.

All flows without a hitch across this cut for a full and deeply satisfying listening experience. Across the whole runtime, the moody, rhythm-driven production complements his expressive vocal stamina step for step.

Definitely add this thoughtful banger straight onto your daily hustle motivation, workout, and late-night reflection playlists today! “Prisoner” is available for streaming now on all your favorite digital music platforms!
