Peter Lubango – Nikomboe (Remix)

Tanzanian gospel recording artist and emotive minister, Peter Lubango, enlists an all-star cast of Bongo Flava legends, including Chid Benz, Belle 9, MB Dogg, Mr Blue, Ferooz, Matonya, and 20 Percent, for a historic and moving gospel crossover—Nikomboe (Remix).

This monumental collaborative remix arrives at a time when East African music lovers and lovers of worship alike are looking for authentic prayer-driven anthems that marry sacred spiritual devotion with golden-era secular nostalgia. Peter Lubango has always been a fixture in the gospel field, known for his energetic vocal delivery, spiritual conviction, and authentic penmanship. He gets seven titans of Tanzanian music on one record, and the creative explosion is instant, taking his slow-burning plea of supplication (“Nikomboe,” Swahili for “Deliver Me” or “Rescue Me”) into a huge, unifying spiritual statement.

The songwriting of “Nikomboe (Remix)” is heavily influenced by repentance, redemption, overcoming personal tribulations, and seeking divine deliverance from worldly burdens. Each artist looks into the human condition with a clear view of human frailty, mistakes, and the need for divine grace to survive the rough seasons of life. Accessible Swahili language and catchy melodic hooks make this group a personal cry for help into a universally soothing prayer anthem for dreamers and seekers everywhere.

All the links flow nicely over this cut for the total deep uplifting listen. The soulful, melodic production is well matched with the collective vocal energy throughout the entire runtime.
