Meja Kunta – Salamu

Meja Kunta, Tanzania’s leading artist of the Singeli music genre and an energetic performer, is back in the spotlight with her explosive and fast-paced street hit “Salamu”, released as part of his dynamic Chapter One EP.

This explosive release comes at a time when friends of East African street hop and Singeli fans are seeking relentless, adrenaline filled rhythms with roots deep in the authentic street culture of Dar es Salaam.

Salamu, which literally means “Greetings” in Swahili, is about sending messages and greetings home, to the streets, to friends and to enemies. It celebrates survival in the everyday and releasing pressure through unfiltered dance. Meja Kunta turns greetings and street life observations into a full-fledged Singeli anthem, with slang and sharp wording that will appeal to both partygoers and everyday woodchoppers.

This track has all the pieces fitting together perfectly making for a full-weight, adrenaline-filled listening experience. The rhythm-driven production emphasizes the artist’s fiery vocal energy step by step, throughout the whole duration, tuned to its peak.

Listen to “Salamu” on streaming services today!
