Aika & Nahreel – WEIRD

Tanzanian music powerhouse and Navy Kenzo frontwoman Aika joins forces with producer and creative partner Nahreel on a bold and hard-hitting single titled “Weird.”

With this release, East African music lovers need punchy, unapologetic anthems that push back against daily social conventions. Aika and Nahreel have been known all over the continent for years for breaking through sonic boundaries with an international bounce. With the release of “Weird,” the duo sets the stage for their album STEPPA, sending out a message that defies social norms and encourages listeners to own their individuality.

Nahreel creates a slow-building canvas driven by heavy kick drums, precise percussive hi-hats, and futuristic synth plucks. A bouncy hip-hop drum loop drives the groove ahead with steady authority, while the clean sound engineering gives plenty of breathing space across the mix so every chant and vocal bar punches through loud and clear.

Throughout the record, everything is well connected, matching their vocal presence with a punchy hip-hop bounce. This new cut is a must for your daily workout, road trip, and weekend motivation playlists. You can now listen to “Weird” on all digital music streaming platforms!
