Tanzanian rapper Dicazzi has joined forces with Country Wizzy on this one, “Pande Mbili,” and this collaboration is already a big one.
Before this, they had worked on the enormous “Money Talks” cypher with Msamiati, Moni Centrozone and a couple of others. “Pande Mbili” feels like a natural evolution from that shared space into something more focused between the two of them.
“Pande Mbili” means “Two Sides.” The song talks about street life, real versus phony relationships, and the two sides of success in the music industry. That’s good for both artists. Dicazzi’s raw storytelling and Country Wizzy’s smoother rap style really balance each other out throughout the record rather than pulling in opposing directions.
The two rappers are also back together following their “Money Talks” appearance, and the song comes after the successful release of Dicazzi’s “Tafsiri” and Country Wizzy’s “Mademu”. They are both in decent form at the minute. “So timing makes a lot of sense.”
Tanzania’s hip-hop scene deserves more respect for the quality of music it continues to produce. That’s another reminiscence of ‘Pande Mbili’.
