HH Announces Plans for Choma International Airport

President Hakainde Hichilema, has announced plans for the construction of an international airport in Choma.

Speaking at a community meeting in the district, President Hichilema said the project will improve access to air transport and reduce the distance residents travel to access air services.

He also announced plans to upgrade township roads and construct a general hospital in Choma.

President Hichilema further said the Lusaka-Kazungula Road will be upgraded to a dual carriageway to ease congestion and reduce road accidents, with the contractor expected to also construct feeder roads in the area.

On agriculture, the President assured farmers that measures have been put in place to ensure they are paid promptly after delivering their produce.

Meanwhile, President Hichilema has urged voters to support UPND candidates in the August 13 General Election, saying the party’s record in government should guide their choice at the polls.

He also dismissed claims that he is supporting independent candidates, stating that his support remains with candidates adopted by the UPND.

President Hichilema has further urged Zambians to continue supporting the ruling party, warning against a return to the challenges the country faced before the UPND came into power in 2021.
