Copper Queens Arrive in Morocco Ahead of WAFCON Opener

Zambia’s Copper Queens have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the 2026 Total Energies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The team departed Algiers’ Houari Boumediene International Airport at 20:50 on a chartered flight shared with the Algerian national team before landing at Rabat International Airport at 22:25.
The Nora Häuptle-coached side will compete in Group C alongside Egypt, Nigeria and Malawi.
While in North Africa, Zambia played the hosts twice in pre- WAFCON international friendlies, drawing the first match 1-1 before losing the second 1-0.
Zambia will open its WAFCON campaign against Egypt on Tuesday, July 28, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 local time.
